The Village Messenger Past and Present

The Village Messenger is published quarterly as a service to the community by SUMC.  The project was created after a fire in our downtown area in 2015 destroyed our local printing company, which published a weekly paper.  The newsletter is mailed to approximately 3,000 households with the 48883 ZIP code.  Additional copies are available in several locations in Shepherd.  Past and current issues are available at the following links:

MIssion Giving Opportunities

Mission Sundays Designations

  • December 10 - Blanket Sunday (Lane 4) December 24 (Christmas Eve) - Methodist Children’s Home in Detroit
  • Noisy Fifth Sundays in 2017-- Months with 5th Sundays are celebrated in our church with giving going toward missions.  On these special Sundays, members bring their loose change and pour it in a contraption making it extremely “noisy.”  Our final Noisy Sunday for 2017 is on December 31.
