Our Purpose

The purpose of Shepherd UMC is to glorify God and to motivate ourselves and others to be followers of Christ.

Our Core Values

The leadership of Shepherd UMC has established core values to guide our ministry development. We are committed to …

  • Be the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:25). We are connected to one another and to Jesus Christ. We stay connected through prayer, the Bible, worship, and caring about one another.

  • Love One Another (John 15:9–17). Jesus was the embodiment of God’s love and expects us to love one another as he loved us.

  • Reach Out to Others (Matthew 28:19–20). One of the last things Jesus asked the disciples to do was to go to all nations, invite them into a relationship with Him and then show them how to have a close relationship with Him. We want people to know the peace, hope, and love only Jesus can give.

  • Expand Ministry to Children and Youth (Exodus 3:15). The greatest gift we can give to our children is an everlasting relationship with Jesus. We are committed to finding relevant ways to communicate the lasting message of God.
